TRIP REPORT: November & December Disneyland Resort Trips for Holiday Time/Festival of the Holidays

I apologize as I am behind on my trip reports. This particular report will be a mish mosh of both my November and December trips as the theme is the holidays. You'll be getting a couple other trip reports soon, including my trips to the DVC Moonlight Magic event at Disney California Adventure, D23's Light Up The Season event at Walt Disney Studios and a review of Ralph Breaks VR at The VOID in Downtown Disney.

So, here we go...

I think it will be no surprise that, during both my trips, I visited lots and lots of characters!

My first stop was to meet Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz (of the Sugar Rush Von Schweetzes) who were out promoting Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks The Internet. Their new designed look is a step up from their original looks. They looked amazing. I was disappointed, though, that they were meeting in front of a random metal fence rather than having a backdrop for them.

I also met the characters on Buena Vista Street decked out for the holidays, including the meet-and-greet area for Clarabelle Cow and Reindeer Pluto.

As this was the first time I would see any of Stan Lee's creations after Stan's death. So, I got a chance to mourn with, perhaps, his most famous creation - Spider-Man!

I also got a chance to meet characters wearing their holiday sweaters in Town Square at Disneyland.

And, over in ToonTown, some of the characters were wearing their holiday best...

Over at Critter Country, I paid a visit to Santa Claus and then got to see Winnie the Pooh and Rabbit in their Santa hats.

I just love the decor over there, but my favorite thing are the Pooh and Piglet snowmen. So cute!

I got to meet other characters as well, including Jack & Sally, Captain America, Pocahontas, the Three Caballeros and Moana. This was the first time I got a chance to meet her at her meet-and-greet location at Tarzan's Treehouse. Its an absolutely perfect location for her.

Going to Disneylamd during the holidays would not be the same without watching the Christmas Fantasy Parade!

And, you absolutely cannot miss Viva Navidad over at Disney California Adventure.

And, for me, the one attraction I must do is "it's a small world" holiday! I don't care what time of year it is, after riding this ride, I would feel like we're ready for the holidays.

Over at the Disneyland Opera House, they had a few of the costumes and props from Mary Poppins Return. I cannot wait for this movie!

I had heard that they finally installed the Bing Bong Statue over at Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff at Pixar Pier. I wish he was more of an animatronic, but he looks cute crying candy.

When I was at the Disneyland Resort in November, I noticed that Luxo, Jr. was installed on top of the Pixar Pier sign, but he was not moving. But, in my trip in December, I was lucky enough to spot him checking everybody out!

Over in Tomorrowland, they hosted Goofy's Holiday Dance Party. It was cute, but it was a madhouse. And, being mobility challenged and in a scooter, it's hard to get around without hitting a child.

Finally, I got a chance to enjoy some of the musical entertainment of the parks. I tell you that the Disneyland Resort has some of the best entertainment around.

Overall, I had a great time visiting the Disneyland Resort. Who doesn't love being there during the holidays?

Get ready for other trip reports during the course of the weekend!
