PROFILE: Brenda Song

Continuing our profiles for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we take a look at Disney Channel favorite Brenda Song.
Song was born in 1988 to a Thai and Hmong family. She moved with her mother to Los Angeles when she was six in order to pursue an acting career.
Her first role for Disney was in 2000 starring in The Ultimate Christmas Present on the Disney Channel. For her role as Samantha Kwan won her a Young Artists Award for "Best Performance in a TV Movie Comedy, Supporting Young Actress."
In 2002, Song signed a contract with Disney where she starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Get A Clue with Lindsay Lohan. She also made guest appearances on That's So Raven and a recurring role as Tia on Phil of the Future and as Mitzi Suzuki in Lilo & Stitch: The Series. In 2004, she starred in Stuck In The Suburbs on the Disney Channel.

In 2005, Song got her breakout role as London Tipton in The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody. Her character, somewhat based on Paris Hilton, made her a Disney Channel favorite. Her character would also appear on The Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana and The Suite Life Movie. Song worked on the show until 2011.
Song was part of the Disney Channel Group of Stars which recorded a cover of "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes." She also starred in the music video. The recording appeared on the special edition Cinderella DVD and the DisneyMania 4 CD.
In 2006, she starred in and served as co-producer on the Disney Channel Original Movie Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. She also appeared in the Disney Channel Games as captain of the Blue Team and, later, as captain of the Red Team. In 2007, appeared in Ashley Tisdale's music video for her debut single "He Said She Said." In 2008, Song hosted a Disney Channel short series called "Pass the Plate," which focused on healthy eating. Also that year, she starred with Raven-Symoné and Martin Lawrence in College Road Trip.

She has also provided voices for such animated projects as American Dragon: Jake Long, The Emperor's New School, Phineas and Ferb and Miles from Tomorrowland. In 2011, she was the voice of Chloe in Pixie Hollow Games.
Currently, she is the voice of Anne Boonchuy in Amphibia on the Disney Channel. She also completed her first season on Hulu's Dollface as Madison Maxwell.
