PROFILE: Alyson Stoner

Continuing our celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month, we look at Disney Channel favorite Alyson Stoner.

Stoner began her Disney career in 2002 as Sally, the co-host of Mike's Super Short Show with Michael Alan Johnson which was basically an infomercial for upcoming Disney Channel shows. In 2003 and 2005, she appeared as Sarah, one of the Baker children, in the Cheaper by the Dozen and Cheaper by the Dozen 2.

She starred in several Disney Channel shows, including The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, That's so Raven and Drake and Josh. She has done voice work as well as Victoria on Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Lillian Hale on W.I.T.C.H., and Isabella Garcia-Shapiro and Jenny Brown in Phineas & Ferb. She also provided the voices for both Kairi and Xion in the Kingdom Hearts series of games.

In 2008, she starred as Caitlyn Gellar in the Camp Rock series of Disney Channel Original Movies along with Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers.

Music wise, she recorded a great deal of music for Disney, including soundtracks for Camp Rock, Camp Rock 2 and Phineas and Ferb.

In 2018 in an emotional essay to Teen Vogue, Stoner spoke about falling in love with a woman. She said, "I, Alyson, am attracted to men, women, and people who identify in other ways. I can love people of every gender identity and expression. It is the soul that captivates me. It is the love we can build and the goodness we can contribute to the world by supporting each other’s best journeys."
