Happy Memorial Day! Here's To The MCU Heroes Who Served In The Military

Happy Memorial Day! On this day when we remember many of our fallen heroes, I thought we'd take a look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes who served in the military.

Steve Rogers
Captain America
After being rejected by the military several times due to his frail nature, he is finally admitted with the help of Dr. Abraham Erskine who saw something in him. He began his military service as a private. Shortly after, he volunteered for Project Rebirth where he was injected with the super serum that turned him into a super hero. After this, he was promoted to Captain who led the Howling Commandos to take down HYDRA.

Carol Danvers
Captain Marvel
Before she became Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers enlisted in the United States Air Force as a pilot. Despite having to deal with the boys culture of the military, she was promoted to Captain after her training and graduation.

James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes
Winter Soldier
Bucky Barnes served in the military for years before his buddy Steve Rogers was finally admitted. He obtained the rank of Sergeant as part of the 107th Infantry Regiment. He eventually became part of the Howling Commandos.

Samuel "Sam" Wilson
Falcon
Before Sam Wilson met Steve Rogers, he was working for the Veterans Administration having served as a Sergeant as a specially trained USAF Pararescue. Falcon's uniform is basically the one who wore in the military.

James "Rhodey" Rhodes
War Machine
Of all the MCU heroes, James Rhodes is the most straight and narrow of the bunch. He believes in the military and will always stand up for it. He serves as a Colonel in the United State Air Force and was a liaison with Tony Stark. Stark gave him a suit of armor which he uses as War Machine.

Maria Rambeau
Maria Rambeau trained and graduated with Carol Danvers in the United States Air Force. The two are best friends and she is the single mother of a daughter named Monica. She rose to the rank of Captain.

Howling Commandos
The Howling Commandos eventually formed of the soldiers who were held captive by HYRDA. Headed by Captain America as an elite task force to take down HYDRA bases, the team included Bucky Barnes, Dum Dum Dugan, Jim Morita,Montgomery Falsworth, Gabriel Jones, Jacques Dernier, Happy Sam Sawyer, Junior Juniper & Pinky Pinkerton.
