Five Characters I Think Should Meet At Disney Parks

Anyone who follows me on social media knows that I am a big Disney character fan. And when I say "Disney characters," I am talking about the characters that meet at the Disney Parks and Resorts.

I was checking when Pixar's Coco comes out in digital release (you'll be happy to know its next week on February 13!) and was reminded how sad it was that there were no characters from the movie to meet in the parks. And that got me thinking about other characters that never made it to the park.

These are the top 5 characters I wish were characters we could meet. Okay, its a little more than 5, but some fall in the same realm. You'll get the point.

1) Taffyta Muttonfudge from Wreck-It Ralph

I think one can agree that there was a sad lack of characters to meet from Wreck-It Ralph. One could argue that Fix-It Felix, Jr. or even Sargent Calhoun should be meetable characters first, but I always thought that Disney missed opportunities with the Sugar Rush Racers. At any comic convention, you will always see people cosplaying as one of them, whether it be Taffyta, Candlehead, Rancis Fluggerbutter or others. I would love to see ALL of them as characters, but realize that would probably not happen. So, if I had to pick one, it would have to be their Queen Bee - Taffyta Muttonfudge. I think there could be some fun opportunities to bring both her and Vanellope out together.

2) Miguel and Hector from Coco

Honestly, this was a no-brainer to me. Disney, over the years, has stepped up its diversity initiatives over the years, including the parks. So, it baffles me that they would create a film that focuses on Mexican culture in a loving and respectful way and not have an opportunity to meet these characters.I hate to say it, but the Latino community should not just be represented by the Three Caballeros. I appreciated the Coco: A Musical Celebration that ran at Disney California Adventure, but imagine how much more amazing the show would have been if Miguel and Hector came out to sing "Un Poco Loco."

 3) Ant-Man from Marvel's Ant-Man

Ant-Man is actually one of my favorite Marvel Studios films. I just thought that the movie was so fun and I loved the way they translated the comic book costume for the silver screen. I think he would be so cool to meet in the parks. I'm hoping with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp this summer that Disney will consider giving park visitors an opportunity to meet these two characters.

4) Mother Gothel from Tangled

This was another no-brainer for me. Mother Gothel is not only the villain in Tangled, but she's a wonderfully flamboyant character as well which lends itself well to character interaction. Park visitors love to interact with characters, especially the villains. Can you imagine how fun Mother Gothel would be? She could have the same kind of over the top personality as Cruella De Vil. Not having her in the parks is a really big missed opportunity to me.

5) Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels

I admit that this one is a little more unorthodox and probably not a priority character for Disney, but I simply love Hera Syndulla, the motherly pilot of our band of rebels. She's even mentioned in Rogue One. So, she's an important rebel! I remember seeing a photo of somebody cosplaying as Hera at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim and they looked incredible. They've had both Ezra, Sabine and Chopper as characters in the parks, why not Hera as well?

I could definitely list more, but I'll save that for another time. So,what characters not currently in the parks would you like to meet?
