Trip Report: Tokyo Disneyland - Hippity-Hoppity Springtime Parade (April 4, 2014)

Our main objective that day was to see the Hippity-Hoppity Springtime Parade.  What was amazing was that, as we entered, it was slightly overcast.  But, as soon as the music started for the parade, the sun came out and it turned out to be a great day weatherwise.

Anyway, the Hippity-Hoppity Springtime Parade was just fantastic.  As with all Tokyo Disney Resort parades, the floats and costumes are just so vibrantly colorful and the performances by the dancers and the characters themselves are just off the charts.  I don't want to insult the efforts on the performers in other Disney Parks as I know they put their all into the parades, but there's just something so different in Tokyo.  And I can't quite put my finger on it.  But, at the end of the parade, I was just left grinning from ear to ear and singing the songs.

The parade also features a show stop in which guests are encouraged to participate in their choreography designed for people sitting.  I'm not usually one for show stops, but I literally could not stop doing the choreography.  I still occasionally catch myself singing, "And then you hop, hop, hop...and then you shake, shake, shake...and then you one, two, three...and then you look at me."

I didn't take video of the parade as I tend to like to take pictures, so I'm embedding this video I found on YouTube so you can see how much energy there is in this parade:

And now, please enjoy some of my photos:

After the parade, I had to get a picture of a couple of the guest control cast members and their cute bunny hats.

We actually tried to watch the parade once again that day but Tokyo Disneyland ends up cancelling the parades if the wind is too strong.  And, unfortunately, they ended up cancelling the second performance of the Hippity-Hoppity Springtime Parade.  Thankfully, we ended up being able to watch it again the next day and I'll share more photos in a future entry as I took those photos with my long range lens.
