While it had been reported last month, sadly, the actual layoffs at Disney Interactive happened this week.  Disney Interactive let go of 700 employees, approximately 26% of its workforce.  This also confirms reports that Disney Interactive will move to a licensing model with development partners.  The company will also produce less mobile and social media games.  Many of Disney owned Playdom's games, including "Where's My Water?" and "Where's My Mickey?" will be eliminated.  On Disney.Com, BabyZone and Spoonful will be shut down.  (source: Variety)
