Why Oswald Belongs At Disney California Adventure

Yesterday, my pal Disney-Me tweeted about a rumor coming from a reliable source that Oswald the Lucky Rabbit coming to a Disney Park...or, he added, that there is a more recent rumor that he'll be coming to TWO Disney Parks around the world.

I've actually heard rumors about Oswald coming to Disney California Adventure before, but, this was years ago and it never reached fruition.  But, I'm really hoping that these rumors are true.  While I don't really care what the second park will be, I really, really hope that one of the parks is Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort.  I don't mean to say that in a mean way, but if you look at it, it really makes sense to have him there.

First of all, the park has this at the very front of the park...

Oswald's Service Station was actually placed at the front of Disney California Adventure very deliberately.  As you enter the park, you enter Buena Vista Street which represents Walt Disney's arrival to California and reflects his early career in Hollywood.  Oswald the Lucky Rabbit being his first character he created in Hollywood is represented at the front of the park with the service station (Before anybody comes at me with the Alice Comedies, remember that those were "created" in Kansas City and eventually moved to Hollywood).

Buena Vista Street is also filled with characters dressed in 1920s and 1930s costumes.

Oswald would fit in perfectly here, don't you think?

Finally, it would also be such a fitting tribute to Walt Disney to have him here in a park that honors his early years in Hollywood.

So, I say to the powers that be...please, please, please bring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to Disney California Adventure! ;)

  1. I was told by a cast member that Oswald will be showing up to California adventure land this month. But not sure what date. Did you find anything out since this post?
