Brad Bird's Tomorrowland to film at Disneyland
On January 30, preparation for the filming of Brad Bird's upcoming film Tomorrowland has begun at Disneyland.  The filming, which will happen between February 3-7, will happen between "it's a small world" and the Matterhorn.  During the filming, the Disneyland Railroad will be down and "Mickey and the Magical Map" will not be playing.  Access to Mickey's ToonTown will only be available along the path near the Storybook Canal Boats.  (source: Mousewait)

Live Action Chip 'n' Dale Movie Being Planned
Those lovable chipmunks are apparently headed to the big screen in a combination of live action and CGI.  The film will be directed by CLIO Award winning commercial director Robert Rugan.  Mandeville Films and TV (The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanter) will serve as the production company with Alexander Young as executive producer. Third Installments for Captain America and Thor
Variety has reported that some creative team members have been tapped for a third installment of both Captain America and Thor.  Marvel has tapped Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, to direct Captain America 3.  Also, Marvel has also tapped Chris Yost, executive producer of Thor: The Dark World, to co-write Thor 3 with Christopher Yost.  Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are expected to return to their respective roles and Kevin Feige will produce both films.  No storyline have been announced. Marvel Universe LIVE! trailer and details released
Marvel Universe LIVE! that is going to bring 25 characters from the Marvel Universe in an innovative new show that involves the Avengers against Loki.  As the story progresses, more Marvel villains will join the fray.  The show will also see Spider-Man and Wolverine as part of the Avengers, something they haven't been able to do in film due to the licensing issues.  Here is the trailer:

Good Luck Charlie features lesbian couple
On Sunday, the Disney Channel aired a groundbreaking episode of Good Luck Charlie that featured a lesbian couple.  The storylined centered around a playdate with Charlie's friend Taylor and it turned out that Taylor has two mommies.  A spokesperson for the Disney Channel said, "Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness." More details on AVATAR Land revealed
At a gathering of Cast Members at Walt Disney World, Imagineer Joe Rohde and producer Jon Landau revealed a few more details about the AVATAR inspired land which just began construction at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  Rhode said that the reason why AVATAR Land is at Disney's Animal Kingdom is because the film shares the fundamental values of the park, particularly in terms of the message of nature.  While no specific details were given, Landau did note "AVATAR is not coming here. Pandora is coming here,”  He also described the land being an attraction in and of itself, "We’re going to be able to do that through our banshee flying ride. We’re going to be able to do that by taking people deeper into the rainforest and see the bioluminescence, day or night. We’re going to be able to do that because the land itself is truly an attraction. It’s going to be interactive. It’s going to give people the opportunity to feel like they are truly in another world." (Source: Inside The Magic)

Sorcerer Mickey available exclusively at Walmart for Disney Infinity
Now until February 6, Walmart will exclusively sell the Sorcerer Mickey figure for the Disney Infinity.  After that, the figure will be available at all participating stores. (source: Disney Geekery)

Frozen continues to break records!
Over last weekend, Frozen, which was expected to make just north of $200 million domestically, made a total domestic box office total of $347.8 million, thus beating Finding Nemo as the highest grossing original animated film in history.  Internationally, the box office was $810.3 million! More Star Wars: Rebels details and character revealed!
Star Wars: Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni reported that the new show will feature more things previously featured in the original trilogy.  The series will take place in the Outer Rim with most stories taking place on a new planet called Lothal.  Also, Filoni introduced a new character in a cantankerous astromech droid named Chopper.  Take a look at this interview on Chopper:

Doc McStuffins makes first Disney Parks appearance
On Sunday, Doc McStuffins joined Sofia the First, Jake and Handy Manny at the Disney Junior Play 'n Dine at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.  While Doc McStuffins met guests at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA in August, this will mark her first appearance at a Disney Park.  But, in order to see her, you have to make reservations for this character dining experience.

Maleficent trailer featuring "Once Upon A Dream" released
During the GRAMMY Awards, a new trailer for Walt Disney Pictures' Maleficent featuring Lana Del Rey's "Once Upon A Time," based on the classic song from Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty.  Also, for a limited time, Del Rey's "Once Upon A Dream" is being made available for free on Google Play.  So, download it soon!  Watch the new trailer:
