2013 Disney Dreamer Year In Review - Part 5

And, now for the last part of this amazing year!

At the end of August, Dan and Jon came to visit and we went to play at the Disneyland Resort.  While they were in town, Disney California Adventure was having an End of Summer Party at Paradise Pier featuring characters dressed in Boardwalk beach wear.  But, most importantly, I got to celebrate their recent marriage.  Our friend Steve who works at the Plaza Inn even set up a fabulous dinner for them.  This trip would also, interestingly enough, be the first time I'd eaten at "Surf's Up with Mickey," the only character dining experience I had never gone to which turned out to be a lot of fun!

In October, I returned to the Disneyland Resort to experience some of the Halloween offerings, including the 13th Anniversary of Haunted Mansion Holiday!

In early November, I came down to Disneyland to meet Thor, the first time a Marvel character would be meeting in a Disney Park, and Anna and Elsa from Frozen.  I also got to watch some of the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade taping at Disneyland.

Also, while I was in town, I got a chance to see Thor: The Dark World at the El Capitan which had items from Stan Lee's private collection, vintage comics and costumes on display...

Later in November, I came down to celebrate my cousin Rich's birthday where I got to see the newly refurbished Disney Studio Store & Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop as well as see Frozen at the El Capitan Theatre where we were treated to a great pre-show featuring the "Images in Ice" ice carvers as well as a visit by Anna and Elsa!

Also, throughout the end of November and in December, I went to experience several of the holiday offerings at the Disneyland.  New this year was Viva Navidad!, a celebration of Latino culture and holiday tradition, at Paradise Pier which was amazingly lively and fun!  And, the Jingle Cruise holiday overlay was added in Adventureland which is a nice addition.  Also happening was the "Limited Time Magic" celebrating Mary Poppins and Saving Mr. Banks which featured a cute meet-and-greet.  And, finally, this was the first time I got to see the new Toy Story meet-and-greet at Paradise Pier as well as the Flower Market on Main Street USA...

Rounding off my Disney year was a trip to the Walt Disney Studios where I got to watch Saving Mr. Banks at the Main Theater.  In addition to the screening, the studio offered an unprecedented walking tour of the studio as well as photo opportunities with Mickey Mouse and Mary Poppins and Bert!  But, before the screening, I got to stop by Walt Disney Animation Studios to say hello to a friend of mine and managed to get a couple of photos there, too.

Phew!  Again, it's been an AMAZING year...one that I don't know can or will ever be repeated.  But, I had a great time and, as always, I can Disney dream for more fun adventures!

Happy 2014, Everyone!
