May 6, 2013 - Tokyo Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean

After the parade, we went to ride Tokyo Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean which is located in Adventureland.  The building for the attraction is modeled after the one in California, except there is no lower queue area.

Once you board the ride, it feels very much like California's Pirates of the Caribbean, including a view of their Blue Bayou restaurant as you head into the world of pirates.

The ride through is almost identical to California's as well, including the inclusion of Captain Jack Sparrow throughout the ride...

The biggest difference, I think, is that the final appearance of Captain Jack Sparrow is to the right before the incline back into the real world.  I always have a hard time getting a picture of Jack in this location in California because the boat is bouncing around so much from the ascend.  So, it's nice to be able to get a couple of shots of him on the stiller waters...

Overall, I enjoyed the ride.  Its much better than Florida's version, which most people who know me know I abhor.  Paris is too different to compare.  But, I'll say this is my second favorite version.

  1. I agree that WDW's is dire. For me though, the other 3 pretty much equal. What makes Paris's for me is the setting. The huge fortress entrance, and pirate ship out front... BUt then I do love the DL and TDL versions also :)

  2. I agree that the Disneyland Paris setting is the most dramatic. Its hard for me to compare them just because the ride through, while containing several similar scenes, is quite different. It's like the Phantom Manor...it's just different from the Haunted Mansion despite having similar scenes.
