May 5, 2013 - Lost River Delta

The Lost River Delta is a land on the farthest regions of Tokyo DisneySea that transports you to the jungles of Central America.  On one side of the Lost River Delta, you feel like you're exploring the jungle with Aztec pyramids popping out from over the trees.

The area's two major attractions are located in this area.  There's Raging Spirits, which is similar to the Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril) at Disneyland Paris)...

...and then there's Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull (which I'll blog about more later during our journey).

When we were passing the Indiana Jones Adventure, we happened across the famous Indiana Jones himself and took a few pictures with him.

We had lunch at the Yucatan Base Camp Grill which was a nicely themed restaurant resembling an archaeological dig.

The other side of the Lost River Delta is reached by crossing a bridge...

...and takes you to a tiny Central American town.  Although, I had to say for a park that had such attention to detail, this part was perhaps the most disappointing.  Maybe I haven't been deep into the jungles of Central America, but, the town looked more like the Cannery in Steinbeck Country than anything I'd ever seen in Central America.

While I don't think it looks very accurate, I did think it looked nice.

And look at who we saw wandering around while we were walking through this little village...

We didn't spend a great deal of time in the Lost River Delta that day, but I will be back to tell you about "Mystic Rhythms," the land's fantastic Cirque du Soliel style show, as well as one of the events Tokyo Disneyland held for us at Miguel's El Dorado Cantina!
