May 3, 2013 - Everyday Is A Holiday Dinner Reception

After "The Golden Mickeys," I felt we took the longest walk ever back to the buses to the hotel.  It was cold and rainy.  In fact, even though we all had umbrellas, it was raining so hard it was raining under our umbrellas.  So, by the time we got back to the hotel, I was thoroughly exhausted.  I didn't know how I would make it through our last dinner in Hong Kong.  That is, until I walked into Cinderella Ballroom!

It was the hugest buffet I had ever seen with food stations on both sides of the room.  There were four food stations themed to a particular holiday - Christmas, Halloween, Lunar New Year and some Pirate Holiday or Dia de los Muertos (we couldn't figure it out).  The food was some of the most amazing I'd ever seen.  And, as you'll see, there were some really creative desserts in the Halloween section.

The event was entitled "Everyday Is A Holiday" and we were soon to find out that it wasn't just the food themed this way.  All the characters that evening came out in their outfits matching the outfit.

First up was HALLOWEEN!

Donald and Daisy came out in their Halloween outfits...

...and Panic and Panic came straight out of the underworld to stir up some scares!

The next holiday was the LUNAR NEW YEAR!

Goofy came out in a Chinese outfit...

...as did Chip 'n' Dale!

And then came the PIRATE HOLIDAY!

Mickey and Minnie came out as pirates...

...and so did Goofy and Pluto...

...and, strangely, Meeko came out.  Although, we love seeing Meeko, so he's invited to any holiday!

Finally, we came to CHRISTMAS!

First up were Chip 'n' Dale in their holiday best...

...then Goofy and Pluto...

...and Donald and Daisy...

...and, finally, Mickey and Minnie!

What was wonderful about these Christmas costumes was that, while they looked distinctly ready for the holidays. the colors and design also gave it a distinct Chinese feel.  I loved these costumes the most.

After all the characters came out for their individual sets, all the characters came out in the Christmas outfits for one final photo oppotunity!

After dinner, we headed up to the private 7th floor where Minnie and Mickey came out in their pajamas to say good-night.

What a wonderful evening!  Despite my intense exhaustion, this dinner was one of my favorites from the entire trip!
