May 23, 2013 - Le Rêve d'un Matin de Marie (Marie's Morning Dream)

Early the next morning, before the park opened, we entered Disneyland Paris.  We were greeted by the Mayor of Paris (not the actual one, but one of a more romantic day gone by) and a group of Citizens of Paris for Main Street would be transformed from Main Street in Midwest America to the streets of Paris for the morning for a special event entitled "Le Rêve d'un Matin de Marie" or, in English, "Marie's Morning Dream."

We were then led through the tunnel and were greeted by Goofy and several police officers (and a bunch of camera men, apparently) who directed us to Town Square...

Once we had settled in Town Square, Mickey, Minnie, Duffy and ShellieMay along with several Citizens of Paris joined Goofy and the police officers for a wonderful opening number...

After the opening number, there was time for some photo opportunities with our favorite characters...

...I also thought that Main Street USA transformed very well into the streets of Paris, especially when accented with the Citizens of Paris...

Then, the Mayor of Paris invited us further down the street.  We stopped at Flower Street and turned our attention to Flower Court toward the Discovery Arcade.  The court was dressed with various Parisian stands and, suddenly, it came alive!

First, we follow Max the Boulanger (Baker) who is selling bread at his stand.  There is a musical number in which he sells all his croissants to the Citizens of Paris!

Next, we see Chip 'n' Dale getting into some mischief by trying to steal candy from Uncle Scrooge from his candy stand.  The police try to stop them, too!

And, finally, Max joins them for a musical dance number...

And, after, we got a chance for some photo opportunities...

After a few photos, we turned our attention across Flower Street to Liberty Court.  It was there that we saw the street come alive with flower vendors and artists!  Daisy, Donald and Clarice were out on the town...

First, Daisy is courted by four police officer admirers.  I wonder who won her heart...

Nearby, Clarice is getting her portrait painted by the famous artist Donald Duck.  She begins to dance with the women of Paris...

And, soon, Donald and Daisy join Clarice for a musical dance number...

Once again, we were invited for more photo opportunities...

I think this was my favorite of the three acts we'd seen so far.  The street just seemed teeming with life and I loved all the sketches and paintings.  Did you notice Daffy Duck in the mix?  LOL!  Also, all the characters and performers were troopers because, if you didn't notice, it was actually raining quite a bit when the act first started.  Thankfully, it stopped by the time the photo opportunities came through.  But, I really appreciated their going the extra mile.

Anyway, after this, I happened to look down Main Street to see a beautiful shot of the Castle.  And, thought, when is the next time I'm going to get a daytime shot of the Castle without anybody in front of it.

Finally, the Mayor of Paris lead us up Main Street...

After three wonderful acts, what else could be in store for us?  We didn't have to wait long as we turned our attention, now, behind us to see some cars coming down the street...It was Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse!

After their dance number, we were all invited in to the Plaza Gardens to have a breakfast and time to meet the Aristocats and the other characters.

There were even magicians and sketch artists visiting our tables.  Look at how mine turned out.  LOL!  I actually kind of love it...

And, with that, we were ready to start our day.  What an incredible morning!  There were just so many surprises along the way and they did such a wonderful job transforming Main Street USA into a Parisian Street.  So amazing!
