May 2, 2013 - Toy Story Land

From Grizzly Gulch, we walked through Adventureland...

...over to the new Toy Story Land.

I’ve been to Toy Story PLAYLAND at Walt Disney Studios at the Disneyland Paris Resort, but I like the one in Hong Kong a little better. The attractions and concept are similar, but, the nice thing about Hong Kong is that it has a little more room and lots of lush vegetation around to create the illusion that you’ve shrunk to the size of a toy in Andy’s backyard.

One of the cast members shared some secrets, such as the fact that there are 8 shoe prints in Toy Story Land as the number 8 is considered lucky in Chinese culture.  Also, in addition to the letters that make up Andy's name, the letters TS and P are missing from the letter board up front as a tribute to the original in Paris – Toy Story Playland.

Everyone went to ride RC Racer, but I skipped it because the harness was too tight on me in Paris, so I just had bad memories of it.

Instead, I went shopping at Andy's Toy Box, the area's merchandise location, which was really cute and nicely themed.  I like how it looks like is made from a cardboard box with all of Andy's drawings of his toy friends throughout.

I also took pictures of the land, which had some similar attractions as well as nice touches not found at the Disneyland Paris version.

I also got a chance to watch their version of Operation Playtime with the Green Army Men.
