May 1, 2013 - Hong Kong's Temple Street Night Market
After dinner, we walked over to the Temple Street Night Market in Kowloon, one of the busiest night markets in Hong Kong.
I got from Angry Birds chopsticks from the boys and a bag for myself. When I bought the bag, the guy told me that it was $150 HK which is about $20 US, which is actually less than I would have probably paid for it in the US. But, I told him that I was going to look around first as I had just gotten there. So, he quickly reduced the price to $120 HK ($16). I thought it was a pretty good price and told him okay, but, suddenly, he said, “Okay, I give it to you for $110 HK!” What? I was good with $120 HK? Why is this guy haggling down? So, I said thank you and took out a $100 HK and started looking for the $10 HK coin. Then, he said, “Okay…$100 HK is good!” So, this guy pretty much haggled himself down from $150 HK to my final price of $100 HK (about $13 US). I think he better go into a different business if he’s going to haggle with himself. LOL!
As we walked back to the train station, we passed down an alley with different food stands. I wish I had more cash on me as I would have loved to try some stuff!
I saw a place that sold Boba drink. I had the Taro Milk Tea with Sago just to have one in ASIA!
