Reuters (November 4, 2010) - Disney adding Marvel to its new kids' TV shows
I think its incredibly smart of Disney XD to utilize the Marvel brand and I'm glad that Disney is going to be developing more programming based on its "tried-and-true" characters.
Although, admittedly...I found this part of the article befuddling:
Disney will also rely on its own stable of big brands and characters as it pushes ahead. "We decided it was time to give Minnie her own plaftorm," said Marsh in previewing a show featuring Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck in a hotel setting he described as "Laverne & Shirley" meets "Fawlty Towers."
"Laverne and Shirley" meets "Fawlty Towers?" Yes, when I think of shows that highly appeal to kids, it's "Laverne and Shirley" and "Fawlty Towers." If that doesn't sound like a 1970s Hanna-Barbera concept revisited, I don't know what does! LOL!
What's next "Lady and the Tramp in Outer Space?" Or "Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar meet the Schmoo?"
